This year's event will be held in Albany, Western Australia, from August 21 -25.
Grandmother Cristine and mother Sharee leave today with Macenzie on what will double as a short family visit.
"We'll be away 10 days and visit Macenzie's uncle Jason and her young cousin, Sarah, in Perth before returning," Cristine said.
Macenzie goes to school at Ringarooma Primary School.
Principal Duncan Walker said that Macenzie competed at Oakbank Racecourse, in South Australia in 2012, and again last year, when the championships were held at Symmons Plains.
"Macenzie also won the Tasmanian under-12 Cross-Country Championships at Pontville in 2013, and an encouragement award at the 2013 IGA Junior Sports Awards held at the casino, presented by Richie Porte," Mr Walker said.
Macenzie's other interests include netball, a sport she plays for Branxholm, Dorset, the North-East Netball Association and the State School Association Country Gold teams.
Grandmother Cristine said that Macenzie started playing netball when she was eight.
"She picked it up because of her mother, who represented Tasmania and still plays," she said.
"I played too - was never good enough to get into the state team."
Macenzie enjoys horse riding and competes at country shows and the annual Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemen's get-together, loves bike riding and has just started gymnastics.
