A FILM about homelessness earned some hard-working Exeter High School students accolades at an awards ceremony this month.

Chelsea Filgate, Taylah Ranson, Fraser Ramage, Jayden Sharman, Mat Bransden, Jyle Holliday, Jack Atkins and Jack Curtin worked under the guidance of teacher Tara East to produce the winning film for the H.E.L.P. Youth, Family and Community Connections Inc competition.
The films were screened at Devonport cinema CMAX.
Mrs East commended her media production students on their efforts.
Two films were produced by the school.
``Both films showed a deep level of empathy, understanding and compassion around the troubling issue of homelessness,'' she said.
``The organisers of the festival spoke very highly of the contributions.''
The winning film, The Homeless Project, earnt the students a $1000 gift certificate for Stallard’s Camera House and each member of the production cast and crew a $30 voucher at Sanity.
