Police have expressed their disappointment after two drivers were detected driving at excessive speed in Tasmania over the past week.

On Thursday last week, a 23-year-old Reedy Marsh man has been caught travelling at 177km/h on the Bass Highway near Westbury - 67km/h over the posted limit.
A day earlier, a 49-year-old New Town man was detected travelling at 127km/h in a 60km/h zone on the Arthur Highway at Sorell.
Both vehicles were clamped for 28 days and both men will faces charges of excessive speed.
Police said that they were disappointed that some motorists continue to flout the road rules and have blatant disregard for the safety of other road users.
