I TOTALLY agree with Health Minister Michael Ferguson in his merging of Tasmania's three health bodies into a single statewide organisation based in Launceston.

Denison independent MHR Andrew Wilkie has slammed the decision for Launceston being the nerve centre of the new Tasmanian health service, basing his opposition on delivering good healthcare.
May I remind Mr Wilkie that of the three healthcare bodies, THO North, based in Launceston, is the only one that has come close to meeting specified targets, with also no allegations of nepotism within its ranks.
Mr Ferguson's hard line on financial blowouts, leadership failures and bureaucratic duplication within the health system is a simple case of separating the chaff from the wheat.
