The 25-year-old roof tiler joined the club this season after playing previously with Dromana Football Club in the Mornington Peninsula-Nepean League in Victoria.
‘‘I played most of my juniors, under-18 and senior footy at Dromana but I also had a couple of years in Queensland and one year in the Northern Territory before that,’’ Worn said.
He said the standard was similar to what he had been used to in Victoria but the evenness of the TSL competition this season was a welcome change.
‘‘Pretty much any team can beat anyone else here this season on a good day but back at home it drops off after the top five teams,’’ he said.
Worn has played at full-back since his junior days and said he was comfortable down back.
‘‘I’ve struggled for form a bit this year because I’ve come up against a few bigger bodies plus training three nights a week while working in a physical job.
‘‘But the next eight weeks is what matters - and there is a good feeling going around the club.’’
Worn played in a reserves premiership side at Dromana last season but is hoping to break his senior premiership drought with North.
‘‘I lost a senior grand final in Port Douglas and have played in plenty of losing finals’ teams,’’ he said.
‘‘I’ve come very close but never got there.
‘‘I’m pumped to play finals and I think we’ve definitely got a premiership side here when we’re up and about and have 22 players contributing.’’
