PEOPLE are advised to stay at home if possible, as winds are expected to hit 100k/m an hour again tonight.
Tasmania Police inspector Michael Johnston said anyone who must leave home was advised to drive to the conditions and to check road closures via the Tasmania Police website.
SES regional manager Mhairi Revie said the SES had responded to more than130 incidents today alone. She said people were advised to stay inside, keep pets secure and not to allow children to play outside near drains.
Ms Revie said that while the flood risk was easing, the risk of damage caused by winds was increasing.
TasNetworks advise that 21,800 customers are without power across the state, with the majority in the North and North-West.
