The big-hearted five-year-old sells the fruit to free bears kept in captivity in Romania via UK charity World Animal Protection.
Since starting his venture last year, he has raised enough money to free one bear.
His ultimate aim?
``To free all the bears,'' Tariku said.
Proud mother Archana Brammall said the venture was entirely his idea.
The animal-lover and vegetarian by choice was inspired by one of his favourite television shows.
``I was watching Diego and wanted to help the pandas,'' Tariku said.
After quizzing his parents on how best to help, a flyer arrived in the family's postbox explaining the plight of brown bears in Romania. He quickly set his focus on the issue and was selling lemons on his South Launceston street by the afternoon.
The idea has escalated since his parents opened their Launceston cafe Sweetbrew six months ago and Tariku insisted the lemons were sold from their shopfront.
The idea has been grabbed with gusto by cafe-goers and local businesses alike.
Launceston businesses Saint John Craft Beer and Garden of Vegan purchased plenty of lemons for use in their products from Tariku's stall at Harvest Market last weekend.
``Everyone has been so generous,'' Mrs Brammall said.
