Two Tasmanians, Jack Penny and Damien Axelsen, will compete for a ticket to the championships being held at Florida's Daytona Beach in November.
Launceston-born Penny, who won a bronze medal at last year's competition in Bulgaria, has been tipped by state coach Ben Kelly to be a strong chance of making the individual trampoline team.
The TIS scholarship holder was impressive at the recent national championships in Melbourne, but will face strong competition from South Australia's 2012 Olympian Blake Gaudry and New South Wales brothers Shaun and Ty Swadling.
Penny, Gaudry, and the Swadling brothers are favourites for the team after having recently been selected to represent Australia at the two ?ntsa?up?ntecoming world cups ?ntsa?being held?nte in Portugal and Belarus in September.
Kelly also backed Hobart's Axelsen to rise to the occasion after a strong double-mini performance at the national championships, where he qualified in first place for the final round, before finishing in third.?ntsa? place.?nte
The selection trials will be followed by the 2014 national club level championships, where Tasmanians Amber French, Caitlin Eaton, Makonnen Brown, Josh Hedley-Williams and Aaron Harvey will be in action against 350 other competitors over two days of competition.
Tickets can be ?ntsa?purchased?ntebought at the Kingborough Sports Centre.
