I respectfully disagree with this notion.
The original proposed site at Connector Park would've been an ideal location for such a facility and widely supported by the public.
The unanimous decision by Launceston City Council alderman to vote against this new $55 million dollar investment for new Launceston infrastructure and employment opportunity in 2011 is extremely disappointing and lives long in the memory of many residents.
It is not the role of government to decide if a business may or may not succeed but rather the role to support them in their efforts to create new wealth.
It is positive to note that Alderman Sands did mention traffic problems associated with a Big W within Kings Meadows and he should be commended for this.
