The Launceston versus Glenorchy match will start at Morven Park at noon.
``We are looking to field a women's team of our own in the TASWAFL competition next season and we wanted to use Sunday's game as an information session for anyone interested in playing for the Eagles,'' Evandale committee member Michael Rigby said.
``It is an exciting team at the Eagles' nest, which already boasts teams in the NTFA, Auskick and AFL Masters.
``Having a women's team will be a huge boost for our club and will strengthen the strong family values that the club holds dear.
``The girls, led by one of our great club people in Kristy Perry, will be fully supported ?by the club and will have their own traditional blue and gold guernsey with a touch of pink.''
Launceston women's team player Amanda Sweeney said her club was happy to help Evandale get a women's team off the ground.
``Due to circumstances beyond our control we were ?unable to source a ground for our game this weekend, so to us the logical thing to do was to approach Evandale to see if their ground was available,'' she said.
``They have allowed us to train on their ground and are very excited about the prospect of us playing there on Sunday.
``We as a club are only happy ?to help Evandale out in organising a women's team.
``We thought that by playing there it was a great opportunity for any girls that intend to play for them next year to come along and see what it's all about.''
