?THE Devonport Subbies host Burnie's City Marians in Greater Northern League hockey this week in a game that has both sides boasting full squads.

Bruce Will, Daniel Ford and Robbie Muir will strengthen the already solid Subbies attack in what will be a physical encounter that should give the coaches a good indication of where the teams are placed in the run to the finals.

Liam Grundy comes back into the Bloods line-up at right wing bringing with him the goal scoring ability they have lacked in past games.

Craig McCarthy will control the centre for the Bloods as the integral link to the forwards, add to that the corner scoring of big hitter Dave Kenworthy this will be an interesting battle of the cities.

Bloods spokesman Clinton Upchurch believes that scoring opportunities will be rare but the team that is able to make the most of the chances presented should come away with the major points.

Smithton travels to Burnie this week to play South Burnie in with Anthony Lockett added to  ?the line-up this should be a win for the Saints.

Andrew Ollington will be under pressure at centre-half for the Saints to close the Hawks traditional line to the net, while trying to set Rhys Burgess and Eddie Popowski loose in attack.

Team spokesman Jarrod Poke ?is impressed with their efforts and believes they could make a difference.

The Hawks keeper Jarrod Bomford could find himself under plenty of pressure and will be relying on Tom Trevarthan and Jason Bomford to keep the marauding Saints at bay.

 ?The early game in Launceston has Queechy Penguins playing the South Launceston Suns.

Queechy need to win this game if they are to keep their finals aspirations alive, but the Suns will be confident having taken a draw and all the points from their previous games.

Qs coach Matt Reid wasn't able to shed any light on their possible line-up or the injury count but was buoyed by their win last week saying that the team played as a team and he hoped they could capitalise on the form.

The Suns' coach Andrew Lancaster is hoping his charges can keep their unbeaten run going and dependant on other match results regain  top spot.

The side will be fresh off the bye last week with a good training intensity this week to prepare the team for what will be a close physical clash.

Goal scorer Anthony Carnicelli steps back in this week along with defender Dave Nolan with the team hopeful of seeing the return of captain Chris Connelly to bring them to full strength.
