Christopher Leigh Taber, 19, of Mount Direction, faced sentencing from the dock today in Launceston Magistrates Court.
He had previously pleaded guilty to a series of driving and firearms offences, including two counts of reckless driving and two counts of possession of a silencer.
Magistrate Reg Marron noted that Taber had already spent 42 days in custody and would be released today.
He jailed Taber for four months, backdated to June 12, and suspended the balance of the sentence for 12 months.
Mr Marron also fined Taber $1050, ordered him to complete a 12-month probation order, and disqualified him from driving for 12 months.
``It's not you versus the world,'' he told Taber.
``It's you understanding that you have some issues with your health that you need to deal with.''
The court had previously heard that police caught Taber speeding at 182km/h and 150km/h, in 100km/h zones, on separate occasions in June, along the East Tamar Highway near George Town.
