Radio hosts Kim and Dave from Heart 107.3 revealed Senator Lambie had been without a partner for 11 years and offered to help her find a partner in a Bachelorette-style call out.
``They've got to have lots of cash and a package between their legs,'' Senator Lambie told the hosts.
``They don't even need to speak,'' she said.
Jamie, a 22-year-old caller, rang in to express interest in courting Senator Lambie.
Senator Lambie asked Jamie whether he had "plenty of cash''.
''I'm just a bit concerned at being 22 years of age and living in Tasmania you might not be quite there yet,'' Senator Lambie told Jamie.
Jamie informed Senator Lambie he had a small fortune.
``I am a bit concerned, because you are so young, that you may not be able to handle Jacqui Lambie,'' she said.
Jamie said he had "been about a bit'', to which the senator responded: ``You don't have any diseases do you?''
One of the hosts told Jamie there was a crucial question left for Senator Lambie to ask.
``I guess, are you well hung?'' Senator Lambie asked.
Jamie says he was "hung like a donkey'' and a breakfast date was arranged, but not before Jamie swiftly disappeared from the line.
By mid afternoon, after Lambie’s interview had gone viral, she released a statement saying: ‘‘I apologise to any radio listeners who may be offended by my comments on Kim and Dave’s show.
‘‘Of course my political enemies will make a big deal out of my comments, but the reality is I was talking with Kim and Dave on Heart FM - not Sarah Ferguson on the ABC.
‘‘I also told Kim and Dave about the $3000 a year that the Palmer United Senate team saved average Australian families at the last sitting of Parliament, but of course those comments didn’t receive nationwide coverage – go figure!’’
