"It [life as a touring band] is a lot harder than it is perceived to be, and we really know that now," vocalist Dale Schober said.
"A lot of people just assume you can rock up to a gig, drink as much as you possibly can and just get on stage, but the reality is you have to get up at stupid'o'clock in the morning and drive five or six hours to the next town, spend the day unloading the van, doing sound checks and all that, so it is not really a holiday, it is a lot of work.
"The biggest thing we learnt is that it is hard work, but at the same time, you wouldn't want to be doing anything else.
" We had some idea what it was going to be like, but we weren't prepared for how exhausting it was actually going to be and it was all more than we thought it would be."
But Schober said the group had grown after their overseas adventure.
"We've come back a lot tighter in regards to delivering our music, but we have also improved our show," he said.
"When you are playing six nights a week for six weeks you tend to try different things on stage and you get constant feedback from audiences of what is working and what not is working and one night you might have this spur of the moment thought on stage and you might decide to climb this bit of rigging, and the crowd loves it, so you do it in the next show and it just keeps growing from there.
"Anyone who saw us last time in Launceston, this time it is going to be a lot bigger and better."
That was late last year, and this weekend's show is set to be one to remember.
"We like to hit every place around the country every six months or so, and that's what this tour is about," Schober said.
"Expect to have your ears ringing for a few days after and a grin from ear to ear because you've had that much fun."
The Deep End will also play at Hobart's Brisbane Hotel on Friday, July 18.
