But that was his summation from the Bombers morale-sapping 102-point mauling at the hands of Clarence last week.
Littlejohn was scathing of his team's lacklustre performance, describing it as probably the worst defeat he had been involved in at the club.
"We have a bit of rebuilding to do in terms of respect and our own confidence as well this week," he said.
"It can be a long week in a footy club when you have a result like we did after last week and as players you want to get back out there and right the wrongs and we can only play better hopefully from what we saw last week."
Littlejohn has stressed that North relies on 22 contributors each week, all playing their role for the team to be successful.
"We were lucky to have five or six at best - as a coach you can't complain if the effort is good and you lose a game but are trying hard to do the things that you've been instructed to do.
"But we lacked effort and the willingness to work hard and put our bodies on the line.
"We've spoken about that this week and that will be the focus and main message this week regardless of result - making sure our effort is really high and our defensive pressure is really good and that will give us the confidence to build back up from there."
The Bombers regain Lochlan Young and Brad Cox-Goodyer but lose his brother Andrew to an ankle injury sustained against the Roos.
Littlejohn said the Kingborough-based Tigers were improving and starting to find their feet in the competition.
"They obviously put in a really good performance last week against Lauderdale by pushing them and they will build confidence from that and no doubt they will enjoy coming up to the big, wide expanses of Aurora Stadium.
"If we play like we did last week any side in Australia will beat us - so we have to make sure we're on our game."
