The West Tamar Arts Group is holding a yarn-bombing workshop with Team Textiles on Monday to help create items to decorate the town.
Team Textiles member Ashley Bird said the workshop would challenge the traditional notion of knitting.
``Most participants will be used to knitting functional things,'' he said.
``We'll be looking at untraditional ways of knitting.''
Items made at Monday's workshop will be used to decorate the town later in the year.
The project will fit into the West Tamar Art Group's Chatterbox project, which focuses on communication.
Chatterbox community engagement and development artist Kitty Taylor said the group would soon start work on a youth project with the West Tamar Youth Advisory Council.
