The Tasmania Fire Service was alerted to the blaze about 9.50pm last night.
Police say that an unknown offender set fire to a curtain through a window at the front of the home, causing only minor damage.
A similar incident occured at the same property in late June. On that occasion an accelerant was used. The TFS was able to extinguish that fire quickly with only minor damage to the property.
Police are appealing to anyone who has information or may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Wellington Street area at the time of the two fire incidents to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
