Bellchambers had played the last five matches after making a late start to the season because of ankle surgery.
Essendon recalled Paul Chapman for the match against his old club and key defender Jake Carlisle is back from a knee injury.
Kyle Hardingham and Jackson Merrett are the other inclusions, while Jason Winderlich is suspended, Mark Baguley has a back injury and Elliott Kavanagh was dropped.
The Cats also made four changes, regaining Harry Taylor, Dawson Simpson, George Horlin-Smith and Jed Bews.
Ruckman Hamish McIntosh, like Mathew Stokes, is out with an ankle injury and the Cats dropped Billie Smedts and Josh Walker.
