Launceston finished the day on top, with three wins, alongside Southern, which also managed three.
Northern Suburbs won twice, while Devonport, Deloraine and Burnie remain at the bottom of the pack heading into day 2.
Event organiser David Cramp said the Devonport and Deloraine match-up proved to be a nail-biter.
``There was a lot of excitement in that game,'' he said.
``Tom Brown needed to win the last match of the day to tie it up 10-10 for Deloraine. There's a lot of rivalry there.''
Cramp also praised the ability of Northern Suburbs youngster Stewart McDougall, who went undefeated yesterday.
McDougall blitzed the competition with victories over state-level players.
Launceston will take on Southern tomorrow afternoon.
Gates open at Elphin Sports Centre at 9am.
