Tasmanian politicians would take home at least an extra $10,000 next year, under recommendations made by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission.
The Commission's report, released today, also recommends providing MPs dumped at election a 12-week pay out to help adjust to life out of politics.
A backbenchers' pay would jump from $118,416 to $124,000 on July 1 before rising another $4000 next year.
However, Premier Will Hodgman immediately ruled out any pay rises for MPs in the next 12 months.
"The government does not intend to be rushed into making any changes," Mr Hodgman said.
