The stars of the show have promised that Northern fans who journey down to Hobart to see the Grease spectacular will be "singing all the way home".
Australian Idol finalist Rob Mills and rising star Gretel Scarlett have taken on the iconic roles of Danny and Sandy in the party musical. The electrifying show sold out in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and will hit the Derwent Entertainment Centre on September 5 to 7.
Mills, who is starring in his first big show, said he "stole a few things" from the original Danny, John Travolta.
"The audience want to hear it," Mills said. "Putting on the leather jacket and boots for the first time helped me find Danny." Scarlett said she brings some attitude to Sandy. She said it was challenging to overcome the comparison to Olivia Newton-John, but her co- star was quick to sing her praises.
"I think she sings it better than Olivia," Mills said.
The audience can enjoy hits such as Summer Nights, Grease is the Word and Hopelessly Devoted to You.
Mills said his signature song was Greased Lightning, which features a real car.
"The car is the hardest thing to get across the stage," Mills said.
Scarlett's favourite is the opening number Grease is the Word. If Northern fans needed any more convincing, Mills had one last message.
"For the Launceston Hawks fans, just do it for me," he said.
