Asador Mekonen Hinsta was due to contest numerous allegations in the Launceston Magistrates Court today.

He had previously pleaded not guilty to charges including assault police, resist police, possession of a firearm while unlicensed, unlawful possession of property and unlawful possession of a dangerous article in a public place.

Witnesses, including several police officers, had attended court to give evidence.

Magistrate Simon Brown issued a warrant for Mr Hinsta's arrest.
