Anne Shirley Stanley, 65, of Ulverstone, and Margaret Isabel Bourke, 80, also of Ulverstone, died when the car they were in crossed a cement median strip and collided with a brick wall at the intersection of Hobbs Parade and Queen Street about 3.30pm on Sunday.

The vehicle also struck a pedestrian - a  63-year-old Ulverstone man who sustained leg injuries. He has since been released from hospital.
