Launceston police are hunting a man who attempted to rob the Ravenswood Over 50s Club at gunpoint late on Thursday night.

About 10.10pm yesterday, the man entered the club and brandished a firearm at the male attendant. The two men struggled over the firearm before the offender fled the scene.
Nothing was stolen in the attempted robbery.
During a search of the area, police located a vehicle which refused to stop.
The vehicle was then found abandoned in Conway Street at Mowbray, however an extensive search of the area failed to locate anyone.
Investigations into the attempted armed robbery are continuing and police ask that anyone with information concerning the robbery or the movements of a white Nissan Pulsar around the time of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
