RSPCA Launceston Care Centre manager Lorraine Hamilton said while it was unlikely the organisation met its fund-raising target of $20,000, it was grateful for the show of support.
"We're very grateful for people putting on their wellington boots and getting out in the rain," Ms Hamilton said.
"Dogs don't mind having wet, muddy paws, and usually their humans are used to it too."
