The attack occurred in Morrison Street, in the car park outside a nightclub, at 1.55am on Saturday, April 12.
The two men bashed their victim until he was unconscious, then stole his wallet.
The victim, a Victorian man, 25, suffered a broken thumb and cuts to his knee, forehead and nose, after he was punched to the head.
Witnesses saw two men flee the area and head towards Salamanca.
Both suspects are described as aged in their 20s, with fair skin, and about 175 centimetres tall.
One man was of medium build, with a large stomach, brown, collar-length hair and he was wearing a black, knitted jumper, and black jeans.
The other man was of slim build, wearing dark clothing with a white shirt or T-shirt underneath.
