The gymkhana and fun day on May 25 was initially organised to raise funds for Prospect 32-year-old Amanda Reid, who was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in March, after three years in remission.

She called for help to raise at least $12,800 for her chemotherapy, which had not yet been subsidised under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

In just a few days she received $15,907.

Ms Reid decided  the extra money and any money from the fund-raising day, would be donated to Breast Cancer Network Tasmania, which will hold it in trust for the next Tasmanian who needs the same treatment.

Devon Hills' 13-year-old Breanna Franklin said she was looking forward to the open day and planned on dressing herself and her horse up as a pink barbie with the hope to win the fancy dress competition.

She said she was looking forward to helping raise money for people with breast cancer.

``People can die from it and families are affected so it's nice to help,'' Breanna said.

The fun day will be held at the Westbury Showgrounds, starting at 9.30am and is open to anyone.

It will include a fancy dress challenge, lead competitions, games, obstacle courses and much more for all ages.

Donated food will be available and all money raised will go to the trust.
