Five cars in total were destroyed by fire - two in the Lutana area and three in Glenorchy - between the hours of 8 and 9.30pm on Sunday.
Three people were arrested in New Town yesterday after their vehicle allegedly evaded police. Two males were interviewed and charged in relation to the alleged car fires.
A 21-year-old Goodwood man and a 17-year-old male youth from Gagebrook were charged with a number of offenses, including unlawfully setting fire to property, attempting to unlawfully set fire to property and multiple counts of burglary and stealing. They were remanded in custody to reappear in court today.
Police say they expect to lay further charges with the courts at a later date.
