On Saturday against Lauderdale he will become only the second Blue to play 250 matches.
The consistent pacy half-back flanker is considered a legend at Windsor Park and is only five games away from surpassing the club's all-time games record-holder Paul Ellis (253 games).
Green, 32, is a dual premiership captain (2007 and 2008), four-time premiership player (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011) and a two-time best and fairest winner (2002 and 2007).
``In my opinion he is probably the best club person in Tasmanian footy over the past 15 years - his loyalty to Launceston is certainly unquestioned and has never been seen before to that level,'' Green's mate and coach Scott Stephens said yesterday.
``It is great for me to have guys like Beau about to help spread that message and assist the young guys with their footy development.
``This is an achievement that has been recorded once in the club's history . . . so it is not something that the playing group are going to take lightly, we certainly want to honour Beau in the right way.''
Green missed the entire 2009 season following a knee reconstruction for a ruptured ACL tendon and said he was most proud of being a part of so much team success over a career that is into its 16th season.
He said the game had become quicker in line with how AFL is played today.
``The 2006 premiership, my first one, definitely is my greatest highlight after not being in that position before and not winning one,'' Green said.
``It was something pretty special and I will remember it for a long time.
``[Playing on] is a possibility, retirement has always been a thought but we will see how I go.
``I'm still loving playing football so that might keep me going - it's year-by-year from here.''
The club bestowed Green with a life membership in 2008.
