Members of the Student Leadership Council were visited last week by West Tamar resident Rod Stone, who spoke of the region's involvement in the 2/40th Battalion.
The 2/40th Infantry Battalion was the only battalion in the Australian Imperial Force recruited almost entirely from Tasmania.
Student Leadership Council member Millie Hanson said students had compiled stories and poems for their speeches on Anzac Day.
Students have extensively researched the region's involvement in war and been privy to the first-hand knowledge of Mr Stone, who spoke in the school's assembly last week with former 2/40th Battalion member Ron Cassidy.
Teacher Claire Nitschke said it was the first time students had looked specifically at Tasmania's involvement in war.
Exeter High School students will speak at Exeter's dawn and 11am services and Beaconsfield's 11am service.
