Environment Tasmania will host a Marine Discovery Weekend in the East Coast town on Saturday and Sunday, featuring a host of marine orientated activities.
Co-ordinator Rebecca Hubbard said Environment Tasmania was organising a series of marine discovery weekends across the state with the first held on Maria Island a few weeks ago.
"The weekend's events provide a range of opportunities for people of all ages and all abilities to learn more about our coastal environment and engage with that environment," Ms Hubbard said.
"We are trying to help people get into the water and connect with what's there.
"If people have never been snorkeling for example, we have got a guide that can take you snorkeling with all the gear so that it is comfortable and safe.
"Bicheno has a lot to offer as it is a beautiful coastal destination with lots of coastal experiences."
Participant will be able to experience glass bottom boat tours, a penguin experience, film night, barbecue lunches, science workshops and rock pool rambles.
Ms Hubbard said community members would also be encouraged to get involved in research by registering to take environmental observations and report them to scientists for their analysis.
