Sufferers and their partner of friend were invited to a lunch at Tidal Waters, where the network offered information and support to those in need.
The network is a Tasmanian-based group of people who are survivors of breast cancer and volunteer to inform, empower, represent and link people affected by the disease.
Mary Anne Smith, a McGrath nurse, explained her role in the community and the help and support she has to offer, while Mary Maloney provided information on current programs and support available through the Cancer Council.
Encore facilitators Mandy Gillies and Tamara Mills told explained the role the Encore Program can play in helping people to improve their mobility and fitness and manage side effects from their surgery or treatment
The weekly program includes gentle floor exercises and movement in a heated pool, and provides an opportunity for women to connect with others who share similar experiences.
