Five students from Riverside High School will join a small group from Brooks High School in cycling through Tasmania raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania.
The 653-kilometre trip will mark Riverside High School teacher Rob Lewandowski's third effort at raising funds to help find a cure for the degenerative lung disorder.
Riverside High School student Connor Galvin-Ridge said the group had already raised $3000 thanks to the generosity of businesses.
"We'll also be rattling tins along the way," Connor said.
"We're very nervous, but very eager, I can't wait to do it."
He said a lot of organising had gone into making the ride a reality.
"Mum's happy with what I've done and how I've organised it, Dad's lending me his bike," Connor said.
The group will ride from Monday until April 27, first travelling from Launceston to Bridport then via the East Coast to Ross.
From there, the group will travel on the Midland Highway back to Launceston.
