The Riverside Lions Club stalwart has organised a meeting at Legana's Community Hall to gauge interest in a Legana Lions Club.
``It was first looked at 11 years ago by the Riverside Lions Club but there just wasn't enough people interested in forming one,'' Mr Roney said.
``I thought it was time it came off the backburner .. A community is a lot richer for having a service club.''
Mr Roney said Lions Clubs served communities within the state, nationally and internationally.
He said costs incurred by membership were offset by being part of an international community and receiving regular newsletters.
``We put family first, employment second, and if you have time left over you give something to Lions,'' he said.
The April 14 meeting is from 7pm at Legana Community Hall.
