Mr Quilliam said that the adoption of NTFUA umpires for NEFU reserves and under-16 matches and the use of the NTFA tribunal.
``The reason for the adoption of NTFUA umpires for reserves and under-16 matches, was that towards the end of last season it had been said that the umpires didn't think they would be able to field enough people to do this job for the NEFU,'' he said.
``After much discussion it was resolved that we would continue to use our own umpires, with a couple of things they would endeavour to carry out.
``The first being that they would guarantee to have at least four umpires for each Saturday to carry out umpiring for the NEFU.
``The other was that umpires would undertake to attend at least one or two sessions with NTFUA Umpire Coach Mick Goodyer and that the umpire coordinator would attend NEFU board meetings.
``All Home Clubs will be notified of who will be umpiring their game by the Thursday night prior to the match.
``After very little discussion the meeting agreed unanimously to the adoption of the use of the NTFA Tribunal.''
Mr Quilliam said that the meeting was very well attended by all clubs, with two or more representatives from each club present, as well as two umpires.
