East Coast Autism Support Group co-ordinator Karen Rawnsley said a sanctuary room had been set up at St Marys District School from last year's efforts, which had proved to be an effective time-out zone for students with autism spectrum disorder.
She said money collected would also help fund a two-day iPad workshop for teachers and parents.
"iPads are now a big part of their schooling," Mrs Rawnsley said.
"It's all about apps - the first day will be about how to use them and the second day will be a masterclass, where they will suggest a specific app for a student."
Mrs Rawnsley said 100 people were expected to walk 24 kilometres from Scamander Beach Foreshore to Wrinklers and return to raise funds and awareness for autism.
Following the walk there will be a sausage sizzle, a raffle, chocolate wheel and activities including a jumping castle and Wave Rider.
Registration is a gold coin donation or participants can buy a t-shirt or singlet - adults $20 and children $10.
People can register at the foreshore from 9am and the walk starts at 10am. For more information call Karen Rawnsley on 0418 375 450.
