Longford Medical Centre's Tania Luttrell last week received a scholarship from Australian Association of Practice Managers, which she will use to improve her professional expertise.
Mrs Luttrell will complete a diploma bridging program in professional practice management at University of New England, Armadale, New South Wales.
"Completing the diploma will cement my existing practice management knowledge, which I have gained through training and experience and encourage me to push myself further within my role," she said.
"I am also hoping it will build more confidence in my professional and personal life by providing me with tips and ideas that can make me a better and more efficient practice manager and individual."
Practice owner Tim Flanagan said the course would add additional skills to the town's medical facility.
Dr Flanagan highlighted Mrs Luttrell's ability to work with diligence and confidence under pressure.
"As a practice manager she has got to be across the human resources side," he said.
"She has to be interacting between the staff and the doctors, and she has to keep her finger on the pulse of all the regulatory stuff and compliance stuff."
