WESTERN Storm coach Mitch Hills says the experience gained by the club's South Launceston players on Aurora Stadium last year will help make the ground a fortress for the new State League club in its debut season.
Hills and his teammates will have their first home and away outing against Devonport on Saturday in a stand-alone season-opener.
``To start the year here [at Aurora] is really good, and the boys are ecstatic about playing 9-10 games here for the year,'' Hills said.
``Towards the end of last year, South Launceston played this ground quite well, and we've got a core group of those players across to the Western Storm this year, so we do have that experience on this ground and our game style does suit this ground.''
Hills said after practice match wins against Devonport, Burnie and Clarence, and a full list to choose from, he was confident of a strong performance.
The club also unveiled its playing strip, with bolts of lightning the prominent feature of the two-tone blue home and predominately white its alternative jumper.
Saturday's game will start at 5pm.
