Evan Pereira, 9, and his sister Amy, 11, watched about a dozen trucks sounding their horns as they headed down Bathurst Street, before they did a loop of George Town Road and returned to Symmons Plains.
``They were cool,'' Evan said.
``I will watch the cars on the TV.''
The 26-metre trucks are equipped with a bed for drivers to sleep in while travelling to races across the nation.
More than 52,000 spectators flocked to Symmons Plains last year for the Tasmanian leg of the V8 championship and communications general manger Col Hitchcock said there was still grandstand seating available for this weekend.
``I encourage Tasmanians to come out and support their event,'' Hitchcock said.
``Ticket sales are always pretty consistent here, it doesn't seem to go up or down significantly.
``For the size of the population it is one of our biggest events.''
