The Exeter High School chaplain yesterday joined students at her school in celebrating Chaplaincy Week.
An afternoon tea was enjoyed by a number of chaplains taking a break after cycling from Riverside to Exeter.
Chaplains and their supporters are encouraged to ride 101?thkilometres this week in recognition of the state's 101 chaplains.
Ms Dobson left her job with child protection to become a chaplain and said she hadn't looked back.
``I love the way it was developed to help the kids,'' Ms Dobson said.
Chaplaincy Week, a Scripture Union initiative, celebrates and raises funds for school chaplains.
Federal government funding partly covers their role, but community support is needed to keep their services.
Ms Dobson said about 10 churches donated to ensure she was at Exeter High School four days a week.
During those days, the Launceston woman organises lunchtime activities and encourages positive self-esteem with the Shine program and the school's pamper room.
Student Leadership Council co-president Emma Penney said it was important to be able to access additional support.
