Shop workers are being warned against a man operating a scam in the South and North-West of the state.

Police have received reports of the man telling shop staff he has locked his keys in his car, and asks for borrow money to pay a locksmith.
In turn, he leaves a false name, address, phone number and car registration.
The man is described as being in his 50s with thinning hair, tattoos on his arms and wearing a business shirt and trousers.
He has carried out the scam in shops in Burnie, Hobart and Bellerive this month.
