Police have charged a 29-year-old man with armed robbery following an alleged incident at a Moonah hotel in the early hours of this morning.

Police alleged that at 12.50am this morning, a man armed with a knife entered the Valern Hotel and allegedly threatened staff before stealing an amount of cash and fleeing on foot.
A co-ordinated search of the area by police located a man near the scene, who was taken in to custody.
He was later charged with one count of armed robbery and was remanded to appear in court later today.
No one was injured in the alleged incident.
