Charles Piper, Michael Wise and general manger Robert Anderson were all presented with NTFA life memberships.
This year's competition has been expanded to 20 clubs across division 1 and division 2.
Anderson said he expected South Launceston (div 1) and Meander Valley Suns (div 2) should be competitive in their inaugural season.
``We are in a strong position and things are looking good,'' Anderson said.
``Clubs have been out having practice matches in preparation.''
Anderson said no decision had been made as to where grand finals would be held.
NTFA greats in former Launceston player Guy Tuthill and North Launceston star Dale Chugg were guest speakers at the launch.
