The fires led to an advice warning for the town last night and multiple Tasmania Fire Service crews and policemen were on deck to control the area.
A fire service spokesman said when crews arrived at Pioneer Parade about 5pm, multiple fires had been ignited between where two fires had previously been.
An advice warning for the town was issued about 6pm, when the fire service began to backburn area between the fires.
Tasmania Police sergeant Bob Schiwy said a person running from the area prompted a police search.
``They saw someone running from where the fires were so they're just chasing that up,'' he said about 9pm.
By 10pm, two men were being questioned and a file was being prepared for court.
The fires didn't threaten any houses but crews were still fighting the blazes at 10.30pm.
