The event would receive $30,000 over three years to ensure the nation's fastest 10-kilometre race remains in the city.
Opposition leader Will Hodgman said $10,000 would be provided for each of the three years.
``In past years the Launceston Ten has been the lead-in event to the Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games and World Championships and has had Olympic game participants from around the world compete in it,'' Mr Hodgman said.
``The Liberals' funding commitment will assist the organisers to build on the very strong brand this event has developed and ensure that it continues to grow and attract participants both local and international to Launceston and the north of the state during winter, which is a critical time for our tourism industry.
``This was viewed from a worldwide audience.''
