LGAT president Barry Easther, who is also the West Tamar Mayor, presented Cr Barwick with the LGAT award late last month.
Cr Barwick has lived in the George Town municipality for 35 years and was first elected in March 1989.
She was the first woman elected as Mayor of George Town in 1995 until 1997 and remains the longest continuos serving councillor.
The George Town Council wishes to congratulate Cr Barwick on her ``well deserved'' award.
