A 65-year-old man has escaped injury after the helicopter he was piloting crashed at Legerwood early this morning.

According to Tasmania Police, the helicopter was crop dusting when it crashed about 6.20am.
The helicopter was a Hughes 269 model, and was extensively damaged. The value of the aircraft is $200,000.
Investigations are continuing into the cause of the crash. Workplace Standards and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau have been advised of this incident and will assist Tasmania Police with investigations.
