The 23-year-old Cradoc man was arrested and charged yesterday as part of a joint operation between Tasmania Police, Australian Federal Police and Australian Customs and Border Protection Services.
He was charged with importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug, and trafficking a controlled drug.
He will appear in court at a later date.
Police began tracking the powder on Sunday when it was detected by customs services in an air cargo package coming from the United Kingdom.
They allege that the MDMA had a potential street value of about $350,000.
