Bellerive Oval will host three pool matches in the cup, involving Ireland, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Australia and Scotland.
Cricket Tasmania chief executive David Johnston encouraged all Tasmanians to be part of the event.
``With a television audience of more than one billion people, the tournament will promote Tasmania to key international markets and serve as a catalyst for new opportunities in tourism,'' he said.
Mr Johnston said the development of the ground was on track to be completed by November.
``We would have had some games in the venue by the time the first World Cup match arrives so we will have some experience with the new venue,'' he said.
The Cricket World Cup will be the largest sporting event in the world in 2015 and matches will be played during the first half of March 2015.
The cup will be hosted jointly by Australia and New Zealand.
Tickets are on sale now, with children's tickets available for every match in the tournament, including the final for $5. Prices for adults start at $20.
