A Longford man was jailed after being caught drink driving more than three times the limit last year.
Darren Lee Baker, 47, appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court yesterday.
He was charged with driving on Wellington Street at Longford on June 23 with an alcohol reading of 0.161.
He was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol three or more times in a 10-year-period.
Magistrate Simon Brown said Baker was a regular offender who had not been deterred from drink driving in the past.
Mr Brown said an actual jail term was appropriate.
Baker was sentenced to three months' prison with his driver's licence cancelled for two-and-a-half years on his release.
